Has this ever happened to you? You are in a hurry either at work or home and you need to login to your computer, find a document and then print it. You do not have any time to waste. So you try to open up the application and all of a sudden your computer freezes or comes to a stand still. You think to yourself, why now!

If that does not sound familiar you must be new to computing or have been very lucky! The problem may be a simple as your registry files are crudded up and they need to be repaired. In many cases what causes these registry errors is that over time people add and remove programs. Now it is possible that your computer is just too old and it can not handle all the software or applications you are running on it. You could try to upgrade it if that is the problem by buying more ram for your computer to see if that helps speed it up.

But before you go investing in new computer hardware you should first download some software to run a free scan to see if repairing the registry files will help you with a tune up pc and let you get back to work.

Another thing that could slow down your computer is if you have too many applications or programs trying to load when you start up your pc. If this is the case you can either use software to help you clean up windows xp startup or you can do it manually.
