Looki g for the Best Rhodesian Ridgeback

It seems that Rhodesian Ridgebacks are a wonderful breed for families, and the word is getting out. As the word of this breed gets out, many people are trying to find puppies.

Many Rhodesian Ridgeback puppies can have problems.

A top priority concern should be the health of any litter. There are a few health issues with this breed, one of which is Dermoid Sinus. Not to worry though, as DS is not as big a problem as it used to be because it is an operable condition.

Not only health, but conformation needs to be kept on top of the list because the puppies will be like the sire and dam. It is true that the appearance of the dog has to do with conformation, but looks aren’t the only aspect of the term.

The dog’s movement must also be taken into consideration as an attribute of conformation. The dogs angles between its various parts is also classified as conformation. The structure of a dog is the primary influence in how it will carry itself.

Temperament is an issue with all breeds of dog, and it is certainly true of the Rhodesian Ridgeback. Become familiar with what the standard says about temperament and dispostion of the breed. There ought not be any sort of aggressiveness as part of this dogs nature, pursuant to the AKC standard. It is good with children, but toddlers may be questionable. If introduced to family pets during puppyhood, Ridgebacks are great with other animals.

There have been a lot of breeders of Rhodesian Ridgeback puppies over the years, and the quality of breeders is often questionable. There a variety of places from which to obtain a Rhodesian Ridgeback pup, but use discretion when making your selection. Looking for a Rhodesian Ridgeback breeder is a critical aspect of the buying decision. Breeders that take a true interest in the breed are the ones that are showing their dogs in conformation events. The best way to determine whether or not a breeder is a good one, is to ask them if they take active interest in the breed as a whole.
