Register to vote in the State of Florida

Some people might not recognize that you need to register first before you have the ability to vote in the State of Florida. To register to vote in Florida, you’ll have to follow these points:

For starters, decide if you are able to vote in Florida. An individual:

Must be a US citizen, Must be a resident of the State of Florida, Must be at least 18 years old(pre-registration to vote is allowed if you are 16 years old), Must NOT be judged mentally incapacitated, Must NOT have been convicted of a felony without your civil rights having been restored, Must provide a valid existing Florida drivers license or ID card, or Must provide the last four digits of your SSN if you do not have a Florida drivers license or ID card. In lieu of these items you have to check the space indicated on the registration form as NONE.

When you meet the criteria, you’ll then need to complete a Florida voter registration application. Complete the Voter Registration Application. Fill out all fields. Print the application out. Make sure all info on your application is provided. The place you register, your SSN, Drivers license number and ID card number are confidential and also are used just for registration purposes. Sign the application. Your original signature is needed because you are swearing or affirming to an oath. Send your application on to your county Supervisor of Elections. You can opt to mail or deliver by hand this application to any Supervisor of Elections office in the state, the DMV, a registration company, an armed forces office, or the Division of Elections office.

Many people often inquire if they need to find a florida public notary to notarize the application. As of the date of this short article, notarizing isn’t necessary. If this is a new registration application in Florida, the date the complete application is postmarked or hand brought to a drivers license office, a voter registration agency, an armed forces recruitment office, the Division of Elections, or the office of any supervisor of elections in the state shall be your registration date. You must be registered not less than 29 days before you can vote in an election. If the application is complete and you are qualified as a voter, a voter information card shall be mailed to you. Be sure to meticulously review the application. If the data you provide isn’t true, you can be convicted of a felony of the third degree and fined up to$ 5, 000 and/or imprisoned for up to five years.
