Why you should order a Thyroid test.

A Thyroid test includes TSH, T4, and T3 in the human body. Linked to molecules, T3 and T4 in the blood is synced to protein molecules. The unbound T3 and T4 represents the bodys thyroid levels. Thyroid levels of hormones that are free react with cell receptors.

Below normal are thyroid levels in hypothyroidism. A lot of TSH is excreted by the pituitary thus increasing the TSH thyroid levels. A Thyroid test is analyzed when the hypothalamus orders the pituitary to stop releasing TSH when in hyperthyroidism and TSH levels are low. Patients with abnormal thyroid levels or thyroid function may have normal TSH levels in beginning stages of dysfunctional thyroid. Because of this, an FT4 and FT3 thyroid level needs to be analyzed.

You can only expect to find a small amount of T3 that is produced by the thyroid gland. The peripheral tissue of the liver manufactures T3 by the conversion of T4 to T3.
