United States International Middle Schools – Obtain a head start

America is home to some of the finest universities and colleges anywhere. College students from around the world labor really hard in the course of their formative academic careers to prepare for admission to schools in the US. A great number of strategies may be involved, but this posting is going to introduce a few advantages of going through an International Middle School in the United States.

Together with really good grades, university admissions departments also focus on what they call demonstrated interest. This is not the sort of interest that states, “I would like to go to your school because I have heard it’s famous.” It doesn’t declare, “I would like you to offer ME admission to your university simply because I barely meet your requirements.” What it should say is, “Your College is undoubtedly the only match for me due to the fact I share your core beliefs and hope to contribute so and so.” It says, I have studied the works of Professor Smith, and I seriously want to work with him and his department to further formulate the concept of so and so.” It demonstrates an intimate understanding of the college and why you intend to attend.

This demonstrated interest will be conveyed via your essay, and such an essay can’t just be thrown together during your senior year of secondary school.

Enrolling in an International Middle School in the United States affords the opportunity to visit universities and understand more about them first hand. You will learn from your teachers how to begin organizing your high school years so you can focus on a small quantity of leading colleges. This is also a way better time to discover that you might not like some certain reality of a college, or that as excellent as its reputation is, you just don’t like the size or atmosphere or location, or so on.

College admissions have become so competitive that even the California State University system turned away more than 10,000 qualified applicants in the fall of 2009. Don’t wait until it’s too late. Look for a school that can issue an i-20 visa and bring you here to study before you get to high school—even if it is just for a term or two. Then ensure that school is sanctioned by a respected accrediation agency such as WASC.
